Java Spring Bootcamp

The Java Spring Bootcamp is an eight-week, 40-hour live online programme run by linq with Ctrl+Space Labs, taught in Greek by Chris Sekas in 2025. It took people with basic programming knowledge through Java, Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs, Spring Security, React, Git and software architecture, ending with a web application of their own.

What participants learned

  1. Java

    Syntax, classes, data types, object-oriented programming and memory management.

  2. Spring Boot

    Project setup, a first API, dependency injection and the Spring ecosystem.

  3. SQL and databases

    PostgreSQL, tables, joins, grouping, subqueries and data modelling practice.

  4. REST APIs

    Spring MVC, Spring Data, Hibernate and JPA, API structure and exception handling.

  5. Spring Security

    Login, sign-up and authorization for your APIs.

  6. HTML and CSS

    Structuring and styling simple, responsive pages.

  7. React

    JavaScript essentials and components that talk to the backend.

  8. Software architecture

    Monoliths and microservices, scalability and enterprise practice.

  9. Git and Maven

    Version control, builds and dependency management.

  10. Agile teamwork

    Scrum, planning and tracking work in Jira.
